Below you will find quick answers to some commonly asked questions. Click a question to read the answer.

How do online classes work?
Students log into their virtual classroom which contains all the resources for the class. Each class is set up in modules and each module may contain homework, quizzes, tests or other activities. Students can interact with the teacher and other students through the virtual classroom. Homework covering the course manual, quizzes and tests are taken online. Additional assignments such as book reports or written papers can be submitted to the teacher through the virtual classroom.

Who can enroll?
Anyone can enroll and take classes through AMU.  You do not have to work on a degree.  You may take courses for your own growth and enjoyment.

How much does it cost?
There are two fees. The first is a one-time application fee of $50. The other is a per-course fee of $175. Each course is worth 3 credit hours.

How do I enroll?
There is a one-time application fee of $50, payable when your application is approved. To apply click the APPLY NOW button at the top of this page. Once you submit your application, an online counselor will contact you to set up your specific course schedule.

Can I earn a degree?
Yes, AMU currently offers an Associate or Bachelor degree. You may also take courses toward an advanced degree.

Is it a real degree?
Yes, AMU offers non-accredited, non-traditional degrees.

Can I get life credit for ministry experience?
YES! Life credit is available for people who have been active in Christian service. Generally speaking you can earn 3 credit hours for each year of verifiable ministry experience. It is possible to earn additional life credit. Please ask a counselor about the options. Students with previous college credit or life experience may request a degree evaluation to determine the required course work to complete a degree online. There is a $100 degree evaluation fee. A minimum of six (6) courses (18 credit hours) MUST be taken through AMU for any degree level.

Can I transfer credits?
AMU will attempt to take as many previous credits as possible toward your current degree program. Students with previous college credit or life experience may request a degree evaluation to determine the required course work to complete a degree online. There is a $100 degree evaluation fee. A minimum of six (6) courses (18 credit hours) MUST be taken through AMU for any degree level.

What Courses are available?
Initially AMU will offer 20 courses required for an Associate Degree through our online extension. We will add other courses as instructors become available. To view the courses offered please click here.

When do classes start?
AMU is set up for students to work at their own pace. You may start and finish any class at any time.
