| A short, FREE, sample course created to give potential students a feel for E-Learning in the AMU virtual campus. This course, worth 1 credit hour, is a shortened version of the full Book of Acts Course being offered by AMU for full credit. The Great Commission is a course that examines the mandate Jesus gave the Church prior to His departure: "Go into all the world, preach the gospel and make disciples." This course looks indepth at three issues. The first is Great Commission itself. The second is God's command to "be" witnesses (as opposed to "go" witnessing). The third is how to pray effectively for the lost. Solid Biblical foundations, combined with several practical application modules makes this a hands-on course that is sure to impact your life.
This course will teach the Hebrew ALEF-BET and the Vowel Points--enabling the student to transliterate Hebrew to English as well as familiarizing the student with the use of lexical aids. The Course will familarize the student with how the Bible came into existence, the languages involved, the development of various versions, and the historical progression from its origins to the modern Bible. This course compares the latest scientific evidences by creation scientists and secular humanist science as well as providing social/theological insights concerning the support for both investigations.
The course provides an overview of each book in the Old Testament, the categories of literature therein, a thumbnail sketch of Israel's history, and the main themes expressed in each of the Old Testament writings.
